Who we are
The Mobile County Education Support Professionals (MCESP) is a non-profit union powered by the dedication of non-certified educators and support staff. We are the protectors, caregivers, and essential infrastructure providers for our schools, ensuring every child learns in a safe environment with the proper tools and technology.
Our advocacy goes beyond the classroom. We tirelessly work to ensure every member receives a living wage because one job should be enough. We demand respect and opportunities for growth through professional development, proper training, and promotion—strengthening our staff to better serve the children of Mobile County
Mission
Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment, promoting an opportunity to achieve academic excellence, to every student.
Vision
Education Support Professionals continue to be on the front lines daily promoting the education of students in public schools. It has been proven and should not be forgotten that we are essential to school operations as well as the care and ultimately the success of students and learning. From onboarding to payroll; from paying bills to student registration; from the bus to the front office; from the cafeteria, to restrooms and classrooms; from repair of mechanical equipment to technical device services and laptop procurement; from the play ground to the first aid room; from beautification and upkeep of secure campuses; Education Support Professionals are ever-present and eager to provide a welcoming, safe and nurturing environment, conducive to student learning. The respect and value of professional services rendered by Education Support Professionals should not be diminished as dedication, skilled trades and the tenure of successful long-term on-the-job performance reveals commitment to excellence in our career paths and encourages students achievements. With these personal character investments in the workplace, Education Support Professionals deserve to be compensated to thrive; not just survive. One job should be enough for the loyal professionals in these careers. It is our goal, through advocacy, for Education Support Professionals to be protected, recognized, promoted and compensated equitably and fairly for the essential work performed every single day. Schools do not operate successfully without these professional services of these valued members.
